(March 21, 2014) - The Boston Breakers announced today the signing of forward Jazmine Reeves for the 2014 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season. Per team and league policies, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The Breakers drafted Reeves in the third round (No. 21 overall) of the 2014 NWSL College Draft. She’s the first player from Virginia Tech to be drafted into the NWSL.
“Jaz Reeves is an exceptional athlete who proved that she has the pace and strength to compete at any level the league presents,” Breakers head coach Tom Durkin said. “She suits our needs on the depth chart in the forward position. She is a quick study, and has a great attitude. She fit right in.”

Reeves, who starred at Virginia Tech, finished her career with 25 goals and 19 assists and helped lead the Hokies to the NCAA semifinals this past fall. She finished her career having played 91 matches, the most in Virginia Tech history. She also has the second-most points (69) in program history.
Born in San Bernardino, Calif., the 22-year-old Reeves is coming off a 2013 college season that yielded NSCAA All-American honors.
"Signing with the Breakers is extremely exciting," Reeves said. "I never thought that playing professionally would be a possibility for me. Now that it is, I am thankful that it is going to happen with such an awesome organization. I look forward most to living in an amazing city, competing with, and against some of the best talent in the world."
The Breakers open the 2014 NWSL season April 13 at Seattle Reign FC. They make their 2014 home debut April 20 at 6:30 p.m. against the Houston Dash at Harvard Stadium. To purchase tickets, visit www.breakerstickets.com or call 617-945-1704.
