(July 26, 2016) – The Boston Breakers Reserves have replaced the Washington Spirit Reserves in this weekend’s Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) Final Four National Championship.
“As soon as we learned the opportunity to take Washington Spirit Reserves spot representing the Northeast, we quickly accepted,” Boston Breakers general manager Lee Billiard said. “It’s a short timeline to get everything arranged for a trip this weekend in Ohio, but we are committed to the Reserve team and all of our developmental teams, so this is something we will make happen, and the hope is they return as WPSL national champions.”
The Boston Breakers Reserves will join the Atlanta Silverbacks, Chicago Red Stars Reserves, and San Diego Sea Lions in Columbus, Ohio this weekend. The Breakers play Chicago at 2 p.m. with the winner advancing to Sunday’s national title game.
The Breakers Reserves, coached by Frankie D’Agostino, finished the regular season 10-0-0, winning the WPSL New England Division.
