(Sept. 9, 2016) - On the heels of winning the 2016 Women’s Premier Soccer League national championship, a handful of players from this year’s Boston Breakers Reserves have taken their games overseas.
Midfielder Chanel Johnson signed with Sunnana SK of Sweden’s Elitettan. She has made two appearances for Sunnana, debuting on Aug. 27 in a 2-0 loss to Sundsvall. Johnson was a two-year member of the Breakers Reserves. In 2015, she was called up to the pro team and made her National Women’s Soccer League debut on May 15, coming on as a sub in a 1-0 win over FC Kansas City. Sam Lofton, who played for the Breakers Reserves in 2015, also signed with Sunnana SK.
Roselord Borgella, a member of Haiti’s women’s national team, played for the Breakers Reserves in 2016. Borgella recently signed with Suwan FMC in South Korea’s WK League.
Kylie Strom recently signed a pro contract with the Breakers and made her first NWSL start on Sept. 4 against Portland Thorns FC.
