Elby, 24, has played the last two seasons with the Breakers. In 2017, she appeared in 13 games, matching her career-high, logging 848 minutes. In 2016, Elby played in 13 games for a total of 919 minutes.

“Brooke had a great end off to the season for us. I felt she really matured as player and as a person in 2017,” Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said. “Brooke also can play in numerous positions, and it's fantastic she has committed her future to Boston.”

Prior to joining the Breakers in 2016, Elby played for the Melbourne Victory in Australia’s W-League. The former North Carolina star appeared in 73 games during her college career with the Tar Heels.

“I can’t wait to be returning to Boston for my third season,” Elby said. “I am eager to be a part of the continued growth and progress that the Breakers have made over the years, and I’m excited for what 2018 has in store.”
