(April 4, 2017) – The Boston Breakers announced today that forward Emilie Haavi will be out four to six weeks after suffering a broken jaw at training last Friday.
Haavi, who was recently called up to the Norwegian Women’s National Team for an upcoming friendly, has returned to Norway. She will stay for a few weeks before coming back to Boston.
“It’s a blow to lose Emilie especially as she was just settling in, getting fitter and stronger,” Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said. “I’m sure once she's back, fit she'll be a great player for us.”
Haavi, 24, signed with the Breakers on Oct. 31, 2016 after four successful seasons with Norway’s LSK Kvinner, where she scored 49 goals in 82 games, helping her club win both the Toppserien and Norwegian Cup in 2014 and 2015.
Tickets for the 2017 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling 617-945-1704 or by visiting breakerstickets.com.
