Breakers announce Reserve Team coaching staff

(March 15, 2017) – The Boston Breakers today announced the coaching staff for the Boston Breakers Reserves.

Dushawne ‘Doc' Simpson returns to the Breakers staff as head coach of the Boston Breakers Reserve team. Last season, he helped lead the Reserves, along with head coach Francesco D’Agostino, to a WPSL National Championship. Simpson is currently the director of coaching at NEFC-Breakers North Shore. His Pingree High School team has won three New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) titles in the last four years. Simpson played professionally for the Boston Bulldogs, Connecticut Wolves, and New Hampshire Phantoms.

Former Boston Aztec/Breakers Reserves goalkeeper coach, Peter LeVasseur, holds every goalkeeper record at Salem State College. He is currently the goalkeeper coach at NEFC-Breakers North and Pingree School in Hamilton, Mass., as well as a director of Upper 90 Soccer Academy. LeVasseur has worked with former Breakers goalkeeper Ashley Phillips and former NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year Michele Betos.

Ebbie Kodiat returns as an assistant coach for the Breakers Reserve team. He led the Breakers to a final four appearance in his last stint as a head coach. Kodiat is currently the girls director at NEFC-Breakers North Shore. Before his coaching career began, he played professionally for the Boston Bulldogs, New Hampshire Phantoms, and the India Men's National Team.

"We have a quality set of coaches for the reserve program," Boston Breakers President of Soccer Operations and Development Lee Billiard said. "Doc has been involved with the pro team, so he understands what it takes to turn a reserve player into a pro player along with understanding our organization's playing philosophy. Adding Ebbie and Peter to the staff was a no-brainer. Both have had experience with us before and have worked together for a long time. We aim to be back-to-back WPSL national champions, and I'm confident Doc, Ebbie, and Peter will do all they can to achieve that goal."

The Boston Breakers Reserves compete in the Women’s Premier Soccer League and open their 2017 season in May.
