(Feb. 29, 2016) - NEFC goalkeeper Brooke Heinsohn and the U.S. U-18 Women's National Team are in La Manga, Spain for a four-team tournament that gets underway March 3. In Spain, the U.S. will play three Under-19 teams from Europe.
The U.S. opens the tournament Thursday, March 3 against Denmark and then faces England on March 5 and Norway on March 7.
According to U.S. Soccer, all the players traveling to Spain are age-eligible for the team that will participate in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which has an age cut-off of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1996, but the goal for this age group is to ultimately qualify for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
