The Boston Breakers lost their first game of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season, falling 2-0 on the road Saturday night to FC Kansas City.

  The Boston Breakers have formed a strategic partnership with Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, the official representative of the United States Soccer Federation (US Soccer), the national governing body for soccer in the United States, and United States Youth Soccer Association (US Youth Soccer) in Massachusetts.

  The Breakers have two big reasons to win Saturday night: keep their four-game unbeaten streak alive but more importantly put pressure on league leaders Portland.

 The Boston Breakers scored halfway through the first half, and Washington equalized just six minutes into the second half, but the Breakers held on for the 1-1 tie Saturday night in front of 4,027 at the Maryland SoccerPlex. With the draw, the Breakers remain unbeaten at 2-0-2.

 Boston Breakers forward Sydney Leroux was voted the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Week by the media for Week 4 of the 2013 NWSL season.

 Sydney Leroux scored the first hat trick in National Women’s Soccer League history, leading the Boston Breakers to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Red Stars in front of a record crowd of 3,113 at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, Mass. The Breakers remain unbeaten on the season at 2-0-1, while the Red Stars fall to 0-2-1.

  The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) and FOX Sports Media Group (FSMG) announced today a one-year agreement to televise nine games this year, the NWSL’s inaugural season. As part of the agreement, FSMG will air six regular-season matches and all three playoff matches, which include the two semifinal games on August 24 and 25, and the championship game on August 31.
